Didi Oviatt, the author of Aggravated Momentum, developed a strong, fascinating cast of characters in this thrilling fictional work. Markie is a young single woman who has been greatly affected by the murder of her best friend, Beth. Her sister, Kam, is supportive, yet challenges her to end the grieving and get back into the world of nightclubbing and dating. As more tragedies occur in Markie’s life, the fear and complications continue to build into an unforgettable crescendo. Soon, it becomes virtually impossible for Markie to trust almost anyone; even her dreams become horrible nightmares. No place, nor any person, seems safe anymore. The enthralling intrigue builds; eventually, many secrets are revealed – and the complicated killer is identified.

A page-turning, enticing thriller keeps the reader guessing, and this novel does exactly that. Aggravated Momentum is an exciting adventure, full of unexpected twists and turns and unforeseen developments. Because the characters are so interesting, the reader is engaged from the first page to the last. Ms. Oviatt’s writing style is clear; scenes and characters are believable. The characters are convincingly portrayed, and one can visualize and hear the voice of each person in the story. There are some love scenes that are not too graphic and reveal the characters’ personalities. In other words, there is a purpose to the love scenes, not just as an addition for the sake of sensationalism. There is an authenticity to Ms. Oviatt’s writing that is refreshing to experience in a thriller-type novel.
