Well, I Finally did it. I finally made that necessary step of self marketing through social media! And I’m not talking about going viral either (laughs)…. I made a Facebook Authors page!!! I know, I know, it should have been done ages ago. In my defense, I’m weird about Facebook. (laughs again) Not much of a defense, but its true.
I keep my personal Facebook account private, (as I honestly feel that everyone should) and I refrain from posting more than one or two pictures every couple of months of my children. Call me paranoid, see if I care. I’ve never understood the mom’s who put a hundred thousand pictures of their private lives and especially their kids on Facebook. Let’s just say, I am not that mom. I’m not necessarily saying its a bad thing, to each their own, and I absolutely love seeing my friends and families on a regular basis that I wouldn’t otherwise be privilege too. Social Media can definitely be a blessing AND a curse. Security isn’t always everything it should be, and I’m a real stickler when it comes to my family. Wanna talk mama bear, then come on over.
Anyhow, now that my crazy FB opinion is laid out there for everyone to see (and probably pick apart lol) lets get to the actual POINT OF THIS POST.
Because I never accept any friend requests when I don’t personally know them (fairly closely) I refrain from much ‘book talk’ on my page. Only since I released my last book, in Sept, have I actually had the confidence and drive to really start self-marketing. Recently I have had quite a few friend requests and personal messages asking me to accept their requests, as they are readers and want to follow me.
Because of this I FINALLY took the initiative to step it up and make a separate page. It’s a page just for BOOK TALK!!! After only one day I have over 100 followers!!
I’m so excited to have so many so fast! Enough so that I decided to take it a step farther!!! So here’s the GIVEAWAY INFO:

Relate to this post.
I’m the same with Facebook now! I rarely share photos of my children & I don’t go on it as much either. But I know I’ll eventually start an author page, I just dread it -it doesn’t feel secure.
