International Day of Happiness… Are you celebrating?

Isn’t it funny that we United Weirdos have a “day” for pretty much anything you can dream up? There’s a friendship day, a chocolate day, a gratitude day, a dance day, a day of tolerance, and much much more. Hell we even have a donut and a farm animal day!

Today is International Happiness Day, and although I don’t usually keep up on what “day” it is, I actually LOVE the thought of celebrating a happiness day. I’m even planning a pint sized party with my kidoes. I have a 4 and a 2 year old, so I think we’ll have cupcakes, confetti, noise makers, and fun songs (nothing to outrageous.) The way I see it, today is an opportunity day. The kind of day that should be used to remind ourselves, and our children, that we should strive to make our lives happy ones. We should count our blessings and seek out things that make us smile. Life is worth making happy. I don’t know about you, but I plan to show my kids that happiness is an important part of who we are, and that’s not to mention its FUN to celebrate.

As for myself… I plan to listen to nothing but uplifting music.
