WOW! I’m completely blown away by this short 35 piece collection of poetry! Talk about reaching inside my chest and wrapping its arms around my soul in a much needed hug of emotion! Brad Mcnerney is a very talented poet! To say that my heart strings have been pulled would be an understatement.

For the most part, I’m personally hit and miss with poetry. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I don’t. More often than not, the reasoning behind my mixed emotions is due to a struggle of understanding. Call me simple, I won’t hold it against anyone. The reason I’m explaining my feelings of poetry in a review, is because with this collection in particular I was actually able to grasp every single poem! They’re deep, complex, and emotional (as the very best of the best are) yet I was still able to comprehend the entire collection. Which in my opinion made the book a breath of fresh air!

Kudos Brad Mcnerney. This is a book of poetry that shouldn’t be passed over. I definitely recommend it to any and everyone! I devoured the entire thing, cover to cover, in one sitting. Great read!

You seem to ignite the world around you and far away I can hear it.
You are sensitive, kind, loving, but yet strong.
You seem to have an invincible fire that lives on.

I’m in love with your center, your core, the essence of who you are.
Our love can be what we want it to be so let’s leave it in the shadows of the stars.
You seem to give me what I need,
Nothing has to change let’s leave it be.

I’m in love with your magic, happiness and even your tears.
I embrace your world, even the clouds behind your fears.
You are alluring, sweet, caring, and there is an uplifting melody in your song.
You seem to have an invincible fire that lives on.
