Writing in the sun, life is good!

Everything about a sunny spring day is perfect! Today I dragged my sleepy butt out of bed extra early, just so that I could relax and enjoy myself by the afternoon. I completed all of the tedious little never ending mommy things like cleaning, laundry, and so forth.  I was even able to cook a large healthy breakfast for myself and my kiddoes before dropping my son off at preschool.

Right now, it’s just after noon where I live and its already a BEAUTIFUL day! The sky’s are blue, the air is clear (perks of  NOT living in a big city), and the scent of freshly cut grass is permeating.  That just so happens to be my favorite smell, despite the sneezing and itching of my eyes that goes along with it. I can handle a little bit of allergies, if it means relishing every morsel of the best smell on the planet.

So far, I have completed ALL of my household crap, AND I’ve mowed my lawn and sprayed weeds. I intend on spending the remainder of the day holed up in a perfect shady spot with my laptop. The contentment of cleanliness and responsibility completion swirls in my chest and I can’t wait to take advantage of the rest of my day. If at all possible, I urge you all to do the same!!!  Enjoy the day, and write in the sun… If the weather where you live isn’t quite as perfect as my own today, then I apologize for rubbing it in.

Well, just kidding… I’m not sorry at all… I just said that because I was trying to be nice lol.

But, in all honesty I’ve been waiting for a day like today for quiet some time. So I think it’s safe to say, I deserve it 🙂

  1. You mow the grass…Did you just fall from heaven? I don’t know any wife or woman that cuts grass.

Writing outside can be nice but I think you need to be in the shade so you can see. Glare from the sun makes it hard to see the screen on laptop,

    1. LOL yard-work can be therapeutic. I just wish I could grow a garden, I kind of suck at keeping plants alive 😉 … and YES I definitely need some writing shade! Fortunately I have the perfect spot 🙂

      1. A garden is also quite a bit of work but can be enjoyable. So it sounds like you have the ability to write full time?

      2. Oh man, I wish!! Unfortunately not though, I just had to take time off this month due to lack of childcare… 😕… life can be bitter sweet I suppose… SOMEDAY, I will write full time, I’m pretty damn determined lol

  3. Ha! We got rid of our house because of the maintenance. I do miss my garden though. It was a beautiful morning to bask on my little patio. Unfortunately, the trees are my enemy this time of year.

    1. I love gardens, I’d kill for a green thumb 😬…. you must be an allergy victim like myself!! Ugh, it’s really the only down side 😤

      1. I am literally allergic to EVERYTHING. the only way I would be symptom free is if I wore a hazmat suit 24/7. Which on most days, sounds really appealing. Lol.

  6. I love seeing your posts. I have a question, which I hope isn’t too personal — when you were pregnant how did you find the motivation to write? I’ve been so tired these past few weeks that I just don’t have the energy or motivation. I know I should push myself, but it’s hard to do anything besides work, eat, sleep/lay on the couch.

    1. Thanks Melissa. And first off, CONGRATS!! I’m so excited for you, motherhood is such a beautiful thing! I’m not shy with personal questions at all 🙂

I had quite the run having babies (I lost several, and it was actually writing that helped me to kind of escape the raging hormones and the emotional roller coaster that comes with that.) The two children that I was blessed to carry all the way through were just as hard, so I hear you with the sleep time and just straight up lack of motivation.

The best advice I can give is to take a break when you need it. The exhaustion will come and go, some months are worse than others. Also each pregnancy is different, so you may struggle this time, and then just breeze right on through the next. With my daughter, I didn’t write even one page the entire pregnancy lol… It wasn’t even so much lack of motivation as it was the lack of brain function. My doctor would tease me and call it ‘placenta brain’ lol … but I couldn’t concentrate for the life of me.

Congrats again! Best of luck to you with the entire adventure, you’re going to do great!
