Wishful Wednesday is a Meme hosted by yours truly. It’s a place we can share the books we could see ourselves living in. Whether it be pillow-talking your book-boyfriend (or girlfriend), casting a sleep spell on your arch nemesis, or even crossing swords with a pirate. If you could pick a book to live in, what book would it be and why?
The options are endless, and the beautiful part is that we can change our minds every week!! All day Wed. from sun up to sun down. If you want to list your Wishful Wednesday *I could live there* book then join in the fun!! You’re welcome to use my WW picture, or not, whatever you prefer! Just list your book choice of the week, link it into either THIS post or another week’s *Wishful Wednesday Page* and I’ll plug you in!! Commenting with your links is also great, I’d hate to skip any over
I know what you’re probably thinking… Vampire books? Really? You could see yourself living in vampire books?
So, before you get all weird about it hear me out! The House Of Night series is actually more interesting and relate-able than any other vamp books I’ve ever read… Ever. It’s actually the longest series I’ve ever read too. It’s magical, captivating, and very well penned. I obviously never would have made it all the way through a 12 book series had I not been completely ‘sucked’ in… (Okay, even I’ll admit that was a horrible word pun lol.)
My reasoning for this choice is because I could totally relate with Zoey. Her personality is very down to earth, witty, and her ability to adapt is phenomenal. The setting of the live-in Vamp Academy is BEAUTIFUL! It’s an old stone and brick premises, very old school, like a castle. Also, once marked a person changing from human to Vamp is able to feel at a very escalated extent. By that, I mean everything. Emotions are extreme, but so is intuition and senses. I think it would be fantastic to see, smell, touch, and hear the way she is able too..
It would also be absolutely amazing to control elements!!!! (this is probably my biggest reasoning)
AND that’s not to mention the guys around her are uncontrollably obsessed and drawn in. It’s insane the power she has over men. Honestly, what girl wouldn’t want that kind of power?
When 16-year-old Zoey Redbird is Marked by a vampyre tracker and begins to undergo the Change into an actual vampyre, she has to leave behind her family in Tulsa and move into the House of Night, a boarding school for other fledglings like her. It’s tough to begin a new life, away from her parents and friends, and on top of that, Zoey finds she is no average fledgling. She has been singled out by the vampyre Goddess, Nyx. Although Zoey has awesome new powers, it’s not so easy to fit in when everyone knows you’re “special” – and some people wish you weren’t….
As Zoey tries to make new friends and maybe find a hot boyfriend (or three), she comes up against all kinds of evil, from the perfect-looking, super-popular girl with not-so-innocent plans, to the mysterious deaths happening at the House of Night and all over Tulsa, and the beautiful high priestess, Neferet, who seems to have Zoey’s best interests at heart…or does she? Things at the House of Night are rarely what they seem. Can Zoey find the courage deep within herself to find the truth and embrace her destiny?
