My Pre-school Baby! #poem

Steady rhythm, rise and fall,

Your breath so sweet, so small.

Under your cheek your fingers tuck,

Your ten tiny toes are still covered in muck.

All tuckered out from the mud and sun,

Summer is over, it’s been so fun.

I watch you nap, you sleep so still,

I know I can do this, I have to, I will.

Tomorrow it’s pre-school, your very first day,

I’ll watch from afar, I’ll cry, I’ll pray.

You’re no longer a baby, growing so fast,

The toddler phase too is now gone, it’s past.

Snuggles and lullabies change over time,

Soon it’ll be boys, no kisses, no rhymes.

‘Till that day comes, I’ll hold you so tight,

Every day I’ll cherish, I’ll plea, and I’ll fight.

I’ll fight for your safety, your love, and your smile.

I’m here for you babe, by your side every mile.

Aww, I’m sorry. I hope you will be okay. Just think of all the great memories you have already, but also about the new ones that will be coming up 😊

    1. It truly is! I’m really clinging to this age. Maybe it’s because she’s my baby and I won’t have it anymore lol who knows! *wipes tear*

  3. Beautiful! Made me tear up a little, actually. I so miss my boys being little. It goes so fast. You still have a couple more years, and I highly recommend valuing every minute of them. 😊😊

    1. Oh I do! Every single one! It always drives nuts when I see parents who blow off, or even take for granted their little ones. I just want to shake some sense into them. Thanks for reading, I’m glad you can relate 🙂

    1. Aww, you’re sweet! I likely will lol. My son started Kindergarten last week too. So having both my kids in school (her for the first time ever, and him for the first ALL day class ever) is killing me! I’m a wreck. I get poetic when I’m a wreck! *wipes tear*
