May WIP Writing Challenge “Camping Trip”

I’m a super outdoorsy girl, I don’t know if I’ve really shared much here on the blog about that aspect of myself, but I LOVE to camp! Connecting with nature is super important to me. I love everything about it; the quiet, the smells, the wildlife, the stars, and the fire! If I could just move to a solitary cabin in the woods, I’d do it in a heartbeat. As long as it had heat, AC, good plumbing, and WiFi of course lol. Unfortunately that isn’t case for me *facepalm* we all have dreams, right?!  In the meantime, I’ll settle for weekend camping trips as often as possible during the summer months.

HENCE THE PROMPT! For the month of May, I challenge you writers out there to plug the characters from your WIP into a camping scene!!!

As the initiator: Every month I’ll give a real time circumstance, hang out spot, or every day situation. I’ll post the exact scene/challenge the first week of every month.

As an Author/challenge joiner: All you need to do is use the characters from your WIP (work in progress), or even a published works, and plug them into the given scene for a short story style post. It can be funny, serious, deadly, really just whatever you want as long as it’s true to your characters (as in, what they would actually do in this situation)!! It’s a fun way to be creative with those personalities that you as their creator love so much. It’s also a fun way to introduce them to the world and your blogs, without giving away your plots and twists… Just pure ‘meet my characters, and get to know their personalities’ separate from their book.

How we work together as Authors and the Initiator:  I’ll do my own scene/challenge post on the very last day of the month (that way I can be sure to link in every joiner, and you can do your posts at your own leisure). Write your scene’s anytime you wish, at any point of the month. All that I need is your final challenge post link.

  1. Hi Didi,

I also have a passion for trekking and camping and love it to sit at a fireplace and have
profound talks and discussions about God and the world, watching the stars in the middle of the nature.

    All the best, dear Didi

Thank you so much! I initially was going to show a camping scene from when they were just kids, but I liked the idea of them having a quiet brotherly moment before things go down the next day.

    Hey Didi,

I just posted my article on your challenge.
Apurva,Tirth, Sakshi, and me were on a camping to the Heaven on the Earth – Kashmir, Kullu and Manali. All were very excited to see the beauty of the place. I felt proud to have that place in my country India. We all left our homes to get started. We were shocked when we saw the miraculous beauty that catch our attention just wondering that how the almighty made this. Just Woah!
