#review Heir of Doom, by Jina S. Bazzar #5stars #mustread #NextChapterPub

MY REVIEW:

Such an excellent continuation to Roxanne’s story! I’m in love with Jina’s writing style it’s so fresh and original. Roxanne Fosch is a force to be reckoned with. She’s fierce, compassionate, powerful and down to earth… as down to earth as a preternatural can be, that is. This is the second full installment of the Roxanne Fosch Files trilogy, (plus a half in prequel style, Cursed). Read them all in order, you’ll get so much more out of it. The first probably quarter of Heir of Doom does an excellent job of catching you up on the story, so if you don’t have the time for all three, it isn’t confusing. Which really says a lot because the world you’re thrown into is intense and it has so much dynamics.

My hat is most certainly off to Jina Bazzar for painting such a clear and realistic world out of so many complexities. It reads smooth, beautifully, and of course deadly. The setting is clear, and the characters are amazing. I felt like I was plucked from reality and placed precisely into a very real world of vampires, werewolves, shape shifters, soooo much more! Heir of Doom could be read as a stand alone, and one could still enjoy the read immensely!  But as I mentioned, the benefits are more satisfying if the series is read in its entirety. I can’t wait for the final installment!

In Heir of Doom, Roxanne is faced with a whirlwind of danger, and it seems the entire world is against her. She doesn’t trust anyone, and rightfully so, as those who have been closest to her have betrayed her. She’s been spied on, hunted, experimented on, and forced to come into the development and mastering of her powers basically on her own, be it one way or another. Roxanne has one of the most unique and original stories I’ve read. And, the ending of this book is jaw dropping! I was left gasping and wanting more. I don’t want to have to wait for book three, I really hope it’s out sooner than later!

As a reader of mostly thrillers and slashers, I’m very picky about my choices in fantasy. So far this trilogy has captivated and kept me on the edge of my seat. I’m hooked! Hands down five stars!

Description:

Roxanne Fosch has joined the Hunters.

She no longer has to run and hide, but other problems have surfaced. Her clan has other plans for her, and even the combined might of the hunters might not be able to save her.

To survive, Roxanne will have to choose between being labeled a traitor and cast out as a rogue – or join hands with the darker powers to save her life, and the lives of her friends.

To achieve her goals, she’ll have to risk her life. But can she control the powers she’s still learning to use, and fears so much?
