I took the month of June off with this WIP Challenge, and I’m SO excited to be getting back on track with it! I love this Writing challenge, it’s been so much fun!! My life has been pretty hectic and I was struggling to keep up, so I stepped away from it for a month to catch my breath. My husband and I have been in the process of finding and buying a new house, and we will be closing on it this week!! Next week we’ll be moving, and hopefully by the end of the month we’ll be settled and back to life as mellow, I mean usual (ish). If there is such a thing as ‘usual’ with our little family, that is!
Being ‘prodigal’ is all about lavish spending, and parading around like you’re hot shit. And, no, it clearly doesn’t have to be biblical! Look up the word people, and run with it! I figured since all I’ve done is spend money and take time away lately this prompt seemed fitting lol. I’m very excited to have my WIP characters live out a scene where they get to do the same!
So, for the month of July I’d love for you to join in and accept the challenge of plugging your much loved characters into a scene of PRODIGAL RETURN!!!
HOW IT WORKS
As the initiator: Every month I’ll give a real time circumstance, hang out spot, or every day situation. I’ll post the exact scene/challenge the first week of every month.
As an Author/challenge joiner: All you need to do is use the characters from your WIP (work in progress), or even a published works, and plug them into the given scene for a short story style post. It can be funny, serious, deadly, really just whatever you want as long as it’s true to your characters (as in, what they would actually do in this situation)!! It’s a fun way to be creative with those personalities that you as their creator love so much. It’s also a fun way to introduce them to the world and your blogs, without giving away your plots and twists… Just pure ‘meet my characters, and get to know their personalities’ separate from your book.
How we work together as Authors and the Initiator: I’ll do my own scene/challenge post on the very last day of the month (that way I can be sure to link in every joiner, and you can do your posts at your own leisure). Write your scene’s anytime you wish, at any point of the month. All that I need is your final challenge post link.
PLEASE JUST COMMENT ON THIS POST WITH YOUR LINK. I’m not getting all my ping backs.
HAPPY WRITING!! I CAN’T WAIT TO MEET YOUR CHARACTERS!
How exciting that you are moving, Didi. I hope it goes well. Sharing this post.
