A Relaxing Mothers Day… Just What the Doctor Ordered!

What a beautifully relaxing Mothers Day here in my neck of the woods! My children are early risers, and late nighters, and middle of the nighters…. Okay, let’s just say I’ve haven’t slept for like 8 years, because I’m counting pregnancy too. My oldest is 7 and my youngest is 5. They’re the sweetest little blessings and I love them with every ounce of myself. That said, I’m freaking tired, as are most moms really. Today, my husband really went out of his way to help me relax, which is literally the only thing I wanted. It’s been perfect!

This morning, when the littles woke at 6am as usual he got up with them. (which is how early he usually leaves the house for work every morning, so he gets just as much non-sleep as myself on a regular day.) He closed the bedroom door, kept them downstairs and well occupied and let me sleep in as long as I wanted!! Seriously though, I woke up twice and laid there until I fell back asleep, because by hell I was making the most of it lol. When 10:00 rolled around and I finally drug myself out of bed, the three of them had made dozens of paper airplanes with hearts and stars and ‘happy mother’s day’ notes all over them. So, as I emerged from my laziness, they jumped up and started flying them all around the room shouting, “Happy Mothers Day!” It was the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen. SO SWEET!

After this, they cooked me a gigantic breakfast, delivered it to me on the couch and even cleaned up the kitchen! Next up, my husband has made sure to tend to all of their needs so that I could relax and READ ALL DAY!! Talk about heaven! I’ve laid out in the sun, soaked up some rays and buried myself in books all day. Then to top things off, my amazing husband is watching princess movies and reading them stories to keep them occupied even longer so that I can WRITE! This is seriously the most chill Mother’s Day a girl like me could ask for. I can only hope that all the other mothers out there reading this, have just as beautiful of a day!
