A few days back I promised a slew of mini reviews. This morning before work, I decided to go through my read pile so far this year and start putting a few together. One of my 2022 goals was at least one self help book a month. In this little trek to enlightenment, inspiration and self growth I’ve come a cross some favorites so for this year. SOOOO, I’ve decided to start with those. We’re in the 9nth month now, creeping up on the tail end of 2022 and although a lot of self help can be repetitive, hard to follow or a flop – these ones aren’t! They’re actually quite bangin’
FIRST PICK: THE POWER OF ONE MORE ; The Ultimate Guide to Happiness and Success
Such an upbeat book!! I think what I like most about this book is that it’s easy reading. It’s down to earth and is worded in a way that anyone can relate to and really take enough out of it that can be applied to their daily lives. There are some metaphors that I really like throughout too. GREAT read! Another cool thing too is that the author donated the proceeds of this book to charity, which is pretty amazing.
SECOND PICK: THE POWER OF N OW: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment
There is a reason this book has been a best seller for as long as it has been. It is absolutely next level, top notch and extremely thorough on literally my entire belief system. The basis on spirituality is written in such a sophisticated way, covering all the angles that I personally stand for. The only reason that it isn’t my first pick is because there were a lot that I had to go back and reread in order to really grasp the wording lol. Maybe it’s just me, and it’s a little TOO well written, either way the time it took to do this really put a damper on my ability to get through it as timely as I’d have liked. That said, I’m just really glad that I have it in paperback because I’ve highlighted and bookmarked a TON! It’s one that I’ll surely be rereading every couple of years.
THIRD PICK: BECOMING SUPERNATURAL: How Common People are Doing the Uncommon
This book has a lot of the same approach and concept as the power of now, but it’s a bit more ‘woo-woo’ and out there for those who like their self help to be more grounded and down to earth. Although I did enjoy it a lot and definitely recommend it (4 stars to be clear), it was a bit repetitive.
FOURTH PICK: LLOWELLENS COMPLETE BOOK OF LUCID DREAMING: A Comprehensive Guide to Promote Creativity, Overcome Sleep Disturbances and Enhance health and Wellness
What a mouthful for a title, right? This is one that I actually wrote a full review on earlier this year when I finished it, and I STILL utilize a lot that is in it and will likely do so for the long haul. Lucid dreaming is such an amazing experience. If you’re prone to becoming Lucid or if you want to look more into dream therapy of sorts this is most certainly the book to go to!!
